Panasonic to Begin Taking Orders for 3D Camera

Panasonic’s upcoming all in one 3D camera, the AG-3DA1, will be on display at the Las Vegas held NAB Show in April. The AG-3DA1 which was unveiled at last month’s International Consumer Electronics Show offers users the ability to shoot in 3D from a single camera which weighs less than 7lbs. At the NAB Show, Panasonic will begin taking deposits of $1,000 for the AG-3DA1 which is priced at $21,000.

Later today (Feb 12th) at David Lam Park in Live City Yaletown, the official celebration site of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Panasonic will open the doors to its Olympic 3D Pavilion. The Panasonic Olympic Pavilion will showcase the company’s upcoming HD 3D plasma technology, that will be available on the consumer market later this year. The Olympic Pavilion will host Panasonics Full HD 3D Theater which will feature two 103” HD 3D displays.

Acer's S5200 3D Projector Available Now

Acer’s new 3D capable S5200 projector is now available and is priced at just over $1,000. The S5200 utilizes a 120Hz refresh rate and fully supports 3D content when it is used alongside a compatible graphics card and 3D viewing glasses. The projector is capable of producing 81” pictures from 1 meter away and it comes with built-in support for Creston’s home automation system that allows users to operate the projector without touching it.

Sony Announces 3D Blu-ray Player

Sony revealed its first stand-alone Blu-ray 3D player earlier this week, the BDP-S470. The 3D Blu-ray technology will hit the consumer market later this month and will be available for $200. The Sony BDP-S470 is said to be 3D-ready, but a firmware update will be required in order to play 3D content. A firmware update will also be made available in the near future for previously released 3D compatible Blu-ray players, such as the; BDP-S570, BDV-E770W and the BDV-E570.

New 3D Toshiba Technology in Development

At the UK launch of its freeview HD and LED TV range of displays, Toshiba announced that it is currently working on a 3D version of the same line-up. Full specifications on the 3D technology will be announced at the IFA 2010 in September. One thing that was revealed was that the 3D displays are looking to be released in the UK towards the end of this year. The 4K resolution, 3D-ready Toshiba ZX900 Cell TV is also expecting to be released in the final months of 2010.
